Instrumental Music Legacy Fund
Mission Statement:
The Instrumental Music Program at Mater Dei High School focuses on instilling spiritual, intellectual, creative and social growth through music education. The program continues to evolve under the leadership of Mr. Fernando Martinez with nearly 90 students participating in Marching Band, Color Guard, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Strings Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Guitar. Recently, Instrumental Music students have represented Mater Dei in New York, New Orleans, Italy, Hawaii and local community functions.
In order to help offset the various costs and ensure we provide the best musical experience for all student-instrumentalist, we have established the Instrumental Music Legacy for the benefit of the Instrumental Music Program at Mater Dei High School. Our mission is to ensure that each student can have a valuable experience that is both affordable and available in spite of financial circumstances. Proceeds of the Instrumental Music Legacy directly benefit our student-instrumentalists by assisting with expenses including but not limited to student participation fees, instruments, program apparel, equipment and uniforms, festival costs, travel expenses, lessons/low-cost supplemental music classes, need-based financial aid and special projects.
Through the enrichment and specialized programs supported by the Instrumental Music Legacy, we are excited to help our instrumental music students develop higher level thinking and interpersonal skills applicable to all areas of learning and life, preparing them for musical professions and beyond.
Help us continue in our mission to sustain the incredible Instrumental Music Program at MDHS
